What Fruitarians Don't Eat & Why
Part of the health rewards that fruitarians experience is due to what they are NOT ingesting. So much of the “food” offered to us in modern times is detrimental to our health. Eating fresh clean fruit is what nature intended for us.
You are what you eat
In this article I describe the many “food” items that are bad for us and that fruitarians are blessed not to have to consume. Even if you are not fruitarian, you may want to avoid these. With that said, I would be remiss if I did not mention that most fruitarians don’t eat animals or animal byproducts because of the cruelty involved in the industry.
Fruitarians Don't Eat...
Cooked Food – has a low vibration, slows down digestion and sits in the gut longer, dehydrating, vitamins and minerals destroyed, denatured proteins, cooked oils (the fats naturally present in all food) are carcinogenic, no self-contained enzymes, dull colours
Animal Meat – feeds pathogens, contains parasites, contains synthetic chemicals (hormones, antibiotics, etc.) that they are fed, exogenous natural hormones from animal is destabilizing to our hormones, pain and suffering of animal passed onto those eating it, very slow and difficult to digest, acid forming, lots of unhealthy fats
Dairy – acid forming, exogenous hormones to us, high fat, bad fats, confusing for adult bodies (milk is meant for babies), feeds pathogens, mucus forming
Eggs – feeds pathogens, high fat, bad fats, acid forming
Sulfuric Vegetables (garlic, onions, asparagus) and Cruciferous Vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, bok choy, radish, mustard, arugula, Brussels sprouts) – adds to pre-existing sulfur toxicity brought on by the use of sulfur-based pharmaceuticals that don’t easily leave the body, very acid forming, often visible as an orangy/yellowish ring around the pupil (Side Note: Dr. Brooke Goldner has dedicated her career to helping people heal autoimmune conditions. She instructs to eat lots of cruciferous vegetables, so beware. She also includes lots of “healthy fats” and protein from seeds and leaves, so beware of that too. Her approach might work for some.)
Vegetables – often contain oxalates (plant’s defense mechanism) that can lead to kidney stones and poor mineral absorption (spinach, potatoes and beets an example)
Nuts and Seeds (small amount can be beneficial) – contains oxalates, high fat thickens blood, fat hard on entire system, high protein is acid forming and hard on kidneys, fat blocks glucose and nutrients from entering cells, high omega 6 to 3 ratio can cause inflammation (other than flax, chia and hemp). My nut and seed recommendation: Brazil nuts, pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds
Legumes (including soy) – contains oxalates, high protein is acid forming and hard on kidneys, usually cooked, soy feeds pathogens
Grains (including corn and glutenous grains: wheat, barley, rye) – gluten and corn feed pathogens, very high in pesticides, clogs up digestion, acid forming, mucus forming, cooked, very dehydrating
Oils – high fats hard on system, usually bad fats, acid forming, hard on kidneys
Salt – salt can be dehydrating, especially when over done, even unrefined salts. Best to stick with sodium/electrolyte rich foods: lemons, celery, parsley
Refined Sugar – no nutrients, blood sugar spikes due to no fiber, many health issues
High Fat Diet (not many fatty fruit types) – acid forming, hard on entire system, inhibits detoxification, inflammation
Highly Processed Food – contains lots of synthetic chemicals, just bad all around
Alcohol – kills healthy cells, hard on liver
Vinegar – very acid forming, hard on stomach
Fermented Food – can cause migraines, high in salt usually, can cause low blood sugar, (note that some savory meals on this website include coconut aminos, which are fermented)
Caffeine – hard on adrenals, causes stress emotions and physical response, addictive, adrenaline hard on organs, acid forming (coffee), hard on heart and stomach, decreases blood flow in brain, coffee usually contains mold
Mushrooms – not considered a fruit, slows digestion
For the sake of clarity, unlike Fruitarians, many Raw Vegans regularly include vegetables, non-herb leafy greens like kale and spinach, onions, garlic, spices, salt, nuts, seeds, mushrooms, fermented foods like kimchi, vinegars like apple cider vinegar and sprouted legumes. Many people heal and thrive on a raw vegan diet. If you are trying a raw vegan diet, my advice would be to include those foods in moderation and really observe how you feel immediately and 24 or 48 hours after any of these items. If you use salt, choose one like Pink Himalayan Salt. Also, be mindful of your fats; nuts and seeds can easily add up. Avoid fats until after noon. And of course still eat a lot of fresh fruit!
The Medical Medium List
Anthony William (also known as The Medical Medium) is a world renowned healer. He has helped countless of people around the world overcome their chronic illnesses, either through the information in his many books or through consultations. He receives his medical wisdom through communicating with spirits.
In his experience, most afflictions are due to heavy metal toxicity alongside viral infections. The main troublemaker viruses he lists that afflict humans are: Cytomegalovirus (CMV); Multiple varieties of herpes simplex virus (HSV) 1 and 2; Multiple varieties of human herpesvirus (HHV)-6, HHV-7, HHV-8; Multiple varieties of the undiscovered HHV-9, HHV-10, HHV-11, HHV-12, HHV-13, HHV-14, HHV-15, HHV-16; Over 30 varieties (all but one undiscovered) of shingles; Over 60 varieties (most of them undiscovered) of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV); Viral waste matter (byproduct, neurotoxins, dermatoxins, and viral corpses) from these herpes family viruses.
The Medical Medium is most well known for starting the celery juice trend. He has also created a very effective Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie that people swear by. His books are full of life saving information. He focuses on stopping the feeding of viruses, removing toxins and heavy metals from the body, and killing viruses. He uses fruits, vegetables and herbs to do this, and significantly limits fat intake. His rejuvenation process centers around the blood and liver, but he also narrows in on the thyroid and brain. In my opinion, he leans too heavily on herbal and other supplements. He also includes cooked foods and sulfuric foods, which can be detrimental. Overall, I would say reading his books and following his protocol is a great place to start for someone who has been on the Standard American Diet (SAD) their whole life. And for many, his protocols are enough to feel amazing.
From his book titled, Medical Medium: Secrets behind chronic and mystery illness and how to finally heal, he lists the troublemaker foods and puts them into levels, with level 1 being the most harmful.
Level 1: Eggs, Dairy of all kinds, Gluten, Soft drinks, High salt consumption
Level 2: Pork, Tuna, Corn
Level 3: Industrial oils (vegetable oil, palm oil, canola oil, safflower oil, soybean oil), Soy, Lamb, Fish and seafood (other than salmon, trout, sardines, mackerel, halibut and haddock)
Level 4: Vinegar of all kinds, Fermented food of all kinds, Caffeine of all kinds
Level 5: Grains (other than millet and oats), All oils
Bonus: Salt, Overt fats, Alcohol, Natural/artificial flavours, Nutritional yeast, Citric acid, Aspartame and other artificial sweeteners, Monosodium glutamate (MSG), Formaldehyde, Preservatives
Here are some of his stated reasons why those items should be avoided, with a more extensive explanation here. Corn and corn products (check labels) feed viruses. Canola oil protects bad bacteria. Eggs feed cancer, cysts, viruses, bacteria, yeast, mold and fungus. Dairy clogs up your blood, helping viruses and bacteria proliferate. Pork is very high in bad fat. Farmed fish usually have infections. Gluten feeds viruses and bacteria. MSG builds up in the brain and causes damage there. MSG is often hidden in other names on ingredient lists – including “natural flavours”. Nutritional yeast is very irritating to the digestive tract. Artificial flavours are full of synthetic chemicals. Citric acid is derived from corn and corn mold. Anthony William also lists a variety of supplements to avoid.
